Three Weeks In, The Slowdown Isn't Slowing Down
Metro DC contract activity fell 24.9% this week — the third straight week with declines across all six jurisdictions, and the steepest drop yet in a slide that's now three weeks and counting.
Three weeks ago this was a dip. Now it's a pattern, and patterns are harder to shrug off than dips.
The Countryside Is Having a Moment. West Virginia Is Having a Week.
Virginia Countryside contract activity rose 4.4% this week while the West Virginia Panhandle fell 33.3% over the same seven days, two small markets moving in opposite directions, though only one of those numbers reflects where the year has actually gone.
Same region, same week, two very different stories. Further proof that the rural areas are never really just one market.
